Pia Wertheimer and Tobias Müllertwo journalists who live and breathe sports themselvesconducted an energy bar test in which readers judged a selection of different bars according to function and tolerability and personal preference. I provided them my expertise in sports nutri­tion and food science.

I always find such tests interesting, because the readers grading shows me what is effectively bought and eaten. That’s what it’s all about: what takes place in the everyday life of athletes and thus, what do I encounter in the everyday life of my clients. Nutri­tion can never be considered only functionallyfood has a decisive emotional and social effect and only if it is possible to reconcile all three individually, concepts can work sustainably.
